It is Never to Late to Learn Music

It is good to encourage people of all ages to learn music. Older students, like adult beginners, would benefit from the skills developed in music lessons. It takes a different approach to learn music at an older age; you are developing new skills that you may not have come across so it takes a lot of patience to really work at it. It can also be a great way to change up your usual routine and benefit from having a creative outlet.

Check out this article from NPR about an adult’s experience in learning an instrument from scratch.

“I think that kids have a lot more patience to do the same thing over and over again until they get it right. I think adults often push themselves to get the whole song on the first day,” Marcus says. “Adults, they’ve heard the recordings many times, and they don’t cut themselves the slack to take things incrementally. So I think there’s a difference in strategy.”
